| A
viable documentation solution must embrace
the Internet to allow access to the right information,
when and where it's needed. Electronic Documentation
(Edocs) can help automate, simplify and accelerate vessel
management processes.
GCS
has the experience and tools to implement
a successful Edoc strategy and system providing a comprehensive
solution for both documentation and workflow, which
often form an integrated shared data environment across
the board.
Improve Efficiency
-- Find that document faster.
Reduce Costs
-- Less time finding the information means less cost.
Keep Your Crew Productive
-- Give your crew improved access to information - helps
to keep your crew happy and more productive.
Better-Informed Staff
-- Making more information available to your staff on
board and ashore helps develop their skills and overall
performance.
Great
Circle Systems offers electronic documentation conforming
to ISM standards for all written procedures,
manuals, drawings, logs, supply catalogues, and documents
used on board. Have instant access to supporting documents
at your fingertips. All materials are duplicated in
html, allowing the user to quickly search through a
manual or document and link directly to manufacturers
from the stored file. All material is transferred to
CDs and available through remote administration from
the vessel and on hard copy backups.
Most
electronic documentation is done by
scanning pages directly from a manual and stored in
a pdf read-only file, basically a straight copy of the
physical manual. This does not take advantage of the
features available to electronically stored manuals.

GCS
scans manuals and drawings into html pages
that can be hyperlinked and cross-referenced, allowing
users instant access to any section of a manual. The
html format works just like a Help file, with indexes,
search capabilities, and caching of favorite topics
for quick reference. Great Circle Systems offers electronic
documentation conforming to ISM standards for all written
procedures, manuals, drawings, logs, supply catalogues,
and documents used on board.
On-going
Documentation
Personnel can also enter their own data as the documentation
builds during the life of the vessel. The documentation
system can hold written procedures, manuals, drawings
and web links all in a uniform, familiar interface directly
accessible through Triton Administrator™.
