All GCS-provided equipment is of the highest quality and reliability available. Our on-board file servers feature the fastest Intel processors available and ultra high-speed RAID 5 SCSI disk systems. Repairs at sea are difficult and costly at best (and impossible at worst), so GCS systems are designed with a very high degree of fault-tolerance.

For example, the disk system is configured with a hot spare and all drives are hot swappable and accessible from the front of our industrial quality rack mount case (with redundant power supplies). In the event of a drive failure, the system will continue to operate without skipping a beat. Upon notification of drive failure, GCS will ship a replacement drive anywhere in the world. When a yacht receives the drive, it can be exchanged with the failed drive, with no tools, in a matter of minutes.

Refit or New Construction
Great Circle Systems can reconfigure or upgrade an existing intranet system when a yacht is in for refit. We can recommend better servers, newer equipment, and a more powerful and efficient LAN, to ensure your vessel is equipped with up-to-date technology. Our Network Systems Specialist will be on-site to train crew and help enter data during the transfer.
