GCS
has developed an innovative means
to provide computer equipment and software at the beginning
of vessel construction and, at the same time, offer
the most advanced systems available when the Yacht is
commissioned, many months or even years later. The
GCS Paradigm Server™, a scaled down version
of the final on-board server, may be leased from GCS
during yacht construction.
GCS
will install the server in an office at the shipyard
or on the vessel, along with the complete package of
GCS software. GCS will provide training for all software,
as needed, and captain and crew can become skilled system
users before the boat even hits the water. Extensive
correspondence is maintained between the Paradigm Server
and our remote servers to minimize costs due to failure
or loss of data.

Problems
are solved on-site
as the need arises, again reducing costs and time lost
by working with the Captain and Project Manager. When
the vessel is near completion, the extensive pre-planning
and use of the Paradigm Server allows an effortless
transfer of data to the new or refitted vessel. No time
is lost in familiarizing the ship’s personnel
with the information system, for all development and
training will have occurred during the build.
The
final system will not be ordered until three to six
months prior to commissioning, providing the greatest
possible value and the latest technology. Upon installation
of the final system, the software and data are simply
migrated from the Paradigm Server.
