Scott StrandScott Strand, President

Captain Strand is the President and founder of Great Circle Systems. He created the company's flagship yacht management software product, Triton Administrator, based on specifications provided by industry leading marine engineers, project managers, and superyacht captains.

The features of Triton Administrator are also informed by Scott's extensive knowledge of onboard computers and his deep understanding of vessel management gained over 10 years of practical experience working onboard superyachts, from deckhand to captain.

Scott works closely with Triton Administrator customers providing personalized training and data migration services, and often developing enhancements and new features based on their input. He has worked with captains, engineers, and project managers in refits and new builds at the finest shipyards in the world, including Feadship, Luerssen, Oceanco, Delta Marine, and many others.

Scott lives with his wife and son in the San Francisco bay area. He plays basketball whenever he gets the chance.


Darren MayheadDarren Mayhead, Chief Executive Officer

Darren joined the GCS team in 2006, bringing with him over 20 years of experience as a superyacht Chief Engineer and British Royal Navy Submarine Engineer.

Darren understands the unique needs of the superyacht industry. He is a yacht computer and network expert and has designed, installed, and maintained countless onboard marine networks and communications systems. Darren is leading Great Circle Systems' expansion into new markets and technologies, including Savant Audio Visual & Control systems.

When not traveling the world assisting GCS clients, Darren lives in the Southwest US with his wife and two children.



Fernando EspinalFernando Espinal, Senior Network Engineer

Fernando joined GCS in 2018 and brings 14 years of experience in computer/VoIP networks and security systems. Prior to GCS, Fernando managed national computer/VoIP networks for a fortune 100 company and computer/VoIP networks for multiple non-profit charter schools.

With degrees in computer networking systems and information security, he channels his passion for knowing how something works into the latest on-board network design and installations, incorporating VSAT, VLAN, PBX, VoIP, Wi-Fi and security networks into a seamless IT solution for new builds and refits.

Fernando lives in South Florida with his wife and son, and is always tinkering/tweaking on something, ranging from car parts to network systems.


Geraint MorrisGeraint Morris, Senior Field Technician

Geraint has been a GCS team member since 2008. Working out of our Ft Lauderdale office, Geraint specializes in installation of VSAT and other marine communications systems and Triton Administrator installation and support. He is also a skilled computer and network engineer.

Geraint is professionally trained in in Sea Tel and MTN VSAT products and has taken classes in Savant systems. Before joining GCS, Geraint was a licensed Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Tradesperson registered in Australia. He then served as a superyacht Second Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and Chief Engineer for ten years. Geraint lives in South Florida with his wife and two sons.



Yomy AimesYomy Aimes, Office Manager

Yomy Aimes manages GCS's Fort Lauderdale office and is in charge of customer care and accounting. She has been involved in the South Florida yachting industry for 10 years and works collaboratively with GCS clients and team members to achieve a common goal.

Yomy is known for her high degree of customer service and for her unique ability to customize her approach to different personalities.

When not working, Yomy tries to keep up with her two active teenagers.




Stephanie MayheadStephanie Mayhead, Project Coordinator

Stephanie came to GCS in early 2017. She brings with her broad project management and coordination skillsets from her 12 years in the environmental consulting field where she worked on complex superfund remediation sites involving numerous stakeholders with competing interests - often under tight timelines. Stephanie spent her early career working in the field of oceanography at the renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography (La Jolla, California), traveling the world and managing a large academic research group.





Steve KahlichSteven Kahlich, Sales and Marketing Administrator

Steve was part of GCS from 2000 to 2008, and rejoined the team in 2017 to manage sales and online marketing campaigns. Steve worked as a delivery and charter captain before coming ashore, and has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development.

Steve also oversees our Triton training program, providing on-site and online instruction in the operations and management of Triton Administrator. He works out of the West Coast office and spends his free time exploring California with his wife and twin daughters, and teaching sailing on San Francisco Bay.
